Excelsior Grand Hotel Amalfi<\/strong><\/p>\n Excelsior Grand Hotel Amalfi<\/strong>\u00a0is strategically perched on a cliff top with a panoramic view of the Amalfi coast.\u00a0It is about 6km or so from the town. Definitely not easy walking distance as the roads are very steep, narrow and windy.<\/p>\n Amalfi itself can be accessed by a free shuttle bus (only 15 minute ride)\u00a0provided by the hotel.\u00a0It comes in very handy as the hotel is a little out of the way. Service starts at 9:00 a.m, stops for about three hours in the middle of the day and ends around 9:00 p.m.\u00a0There also a local SITA bus stop near the hotel, but be aware you need to buy your ticket before you get on the bus. It is a perfect\u00a0base to see the sights of the Amalfi coast and surrounding attractions around Naples.<\/p>\n The hotel has a wonderful ambiance with a touch of old fashioned elegance.\u00a0Excelsior Grand Hotel Amalfi features hundred and four rooms.\u00a0The rooms are spacious and very clean. It includes a flatscreen TV, pay-per-view channels. All rooms have a sea view which you\u2019ll be able to enjoy from your balcony.<\/p>\n The entire staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful. The reception staff speak excellent English. Always attentive, courteous and will make your stay a pleasure.<\/p>\n Breakfast has a wide selection of delicious foods, pastries,\u00a0yogurts, breads, etc. It also includes hot items such as\u00a0sausage, bacon and scrambled eggs.\u00a0All served in a large room with a great balcony overlooking the ocean and Amalfi coastline.<\/p>\n The private beach is terrific. There is an elevator that you will take down, so you don’t have to walk the five hundred or so steps down to the beach. You can swim in the crystal clear, and incredibly blue\u00a0Mediterranean\u00a0sea.\u00a0You have to pay for the beach, but compared to the public beaches it’s well worth the price.\u00a0You have to buy the tickets at reception desk for the beach. The cost is 10 euros each, you get an umbrella, and chair. Plus 5 euros each for the towels, which you have to return at the end of the day.\u00a0In addition there is a lovely bar and restaurant located on site.<\/p>\n There is a swimming pool with great views. Very\u00a0lovely and there are plenty of loungers and space.\u00a0The fee for towels applies for the pool area also.\u00a0There is a nice pool bar and seating area, again with fantastic views down on to Amalfi town.<\/p>\n No entertainment in the evenings. But there is a beautiful village of Pogerol\u00a0above the hotel, which is about a ten minute walk away.\u00a0There are a couple of nice bars and restaurants here.<\/p>\n Free Wi-Fi is only available in communal areas.<\/p>\n There is a restaurant on site, with a terrific selection of Italian cuisines and local wines.<\/p>\n Excelsior Grand Hotel Amalfi offers\u00a0free parking on site.<\/p>\n Room Tip: All rooms come with a great view.
